Friends of Wilson Island is a non-profit group of local citizens dedicated to the enhancement of Wilson Island State Recreation Area for all park users. Wilson Island offers camping, hiking, biking, boating, picnics, day use picnic areas, 2 reservable shelters, fishing, and hunting. It is a perfect setting for reunions, weddings, receptions, special programs, nature programs and lots more. Let’s meet at the Island. Upcoming Dates for 2008 May 2 - 4 - Camping Kickoff Weekend July 18 - 20 - Ragbrai July 19 - Friends Group Annual Barbeque May - August - Every Friday at 7:30 PM there will be an interpretive program presented at Wilson Island down by the Shelters. September 27 - Campfire Cook-off and Dutch Oven Demo at 4:00 PM at Wilson Island.
