Friends of Wilson Island is a non-profit group of citizens dedicated to the enhancement of Wilson Island State Recreation Area for all park users.
Wilson Island offers camping, hiking, biking, boating, picnics, day use picnic areas, 2 reservable shelters, fishing, and hunting. It is a perfect setting for reunions, weddings, receptions, special programs, nature programs and lots more.

The Annual Dutch Oven Cook-of for 2010 has been canceled for this year.
Upcoming Dates for 2010
Saturday, September 18, 2010 from 8:00am - 12:00pm is a park clean up day from the flood.
Saturday, September 25, 2010 from 8:00am - 12:00pm is a park clean up day from the flood.
There will be a variety of tasks to complete which will include something for everyone of all skill levels to help restore the park after the 2010 flooding. Please RSVP by phoning the park office at (712) 642-2069 or email wilson_island@dnr.iowa.gov.
